About The Commission
The New Hampshire Council for Responsible Gambling was established through the 2019 legislation legalizing sports betting in the Granite State. It’s tasked with education, advocacy, and prevention services, along with referrals to treatment for those impacted by gambling disorders in New Hampshire.
Chapter 338-B established the New Hampshire Council for Responsible Gambling, and five members of this council were sworn in as members in 2020. It’s composed of the following members, all of whom have experience in the field of addiction or mental health services with a focus on problem gambling. Members serve three-year terms and are nominated by the governor and confirmed by the New Hampshire Executive Council.
Our Current Work
During 2020, the NHCRG contracted with the New Hampshire Council on Problem Gambling to build capacity for gambling-related treatment services in New Hampshire through education activities, develop a strategic plan for gambling-related awareness and prevention and treatment services, and facilitate unique resources such as a problem gambling helpline (603-724-1605) and a voluntary self-exclusion system.
